It’s that time of the year again! The days have gotten shorter, the temperature has dropped and our bodies are adjusting with the ever changing seasons. This time of the year usually has us running all over the place; from various holiday parties and activities, to Thanksgiving and Christmas with the family. Let’s not forget all the awesome Holiday sales, or the hours spent standing in line.

The busy hustle and loving energies of the season are felt by everyone. Most of us want to be close to family, cooking awesome meals and of course searching for great deals on gifts to give to those precious to us. No one wants to be spending time in bed, or being sick; but let’s be honest, this time of the year is the most common time to catch the flu or some type of cold. There are many ways to give your immune system the extra boost it needs.

Eating Nutritional Foods

Eating healthy, nutritious foods will drastically improve your physical, mental, social and intellectual health. Having a healthy diet also prevents a lot of chronic illnesses. A nutritional, balanced diet results in a healthy heart. Whatever you eat impacts your brain especially the parts that regulate your mood.

Drinking Clean Water

We all know our bodies are made mostly of water; staying hydrated has many benefits to you and your health. It is also important to drink clean water! Most water from the faucets are contaminated and filled with fluoride, wasted medications and all sorts of harmful chemicals. Distilled water and reverse osmosis are great ways to clean water; just make sure you add extra calcium, magnesium and other beneficial nutrients needed that the cleaning process has removed.

Vitamins

There are many vitamins and supplements that can be taken to boost your immune system. Elderberries are rich in vitamins A & C; bioflavonoids found in the berries increase antioxidants giving your immune system just the boost it needs. According to a study that was published in the Journal of International Medical Research; patients who were given elderberry syrup recovered about 4 days faster from the flu than those not taking the Elderberry Syrup supplement.
