Raw wildflower honey or goldenrod honey is often used by those who suffer from pollen allergies. Our wildflower honey works to lessen their sensitivity to pollen by eating 1 to 2 tsp. of it each day. The idea is, that by introducing small amounts of pollen into their system using Raw honey, a tolerance to pollen allergens is built up. When consuming our Elderberry syrup you are able to get immune boosting and allergy relief in one.
In addition, research conducted at North Carolina state university shows that honey bees “self-medicate” when their colony is infected with a harmful fungus, bringing in increased amounts of antifungal plant resins to ward off the pathogen.
If you are planning to buy wildflower honey for its health-benefits, it must be raw wildflower honey. Heating honey (pasteurization) destroys all the pollen, enzymes, propolis, vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, and aromatics. Honey that has been heated and filtered is called commercial, liquid or regular honey.
